The Mission

The outdoors is incredible.

But there are things that get in the way of making the most of it. The cold shower. The lack of a toilet. The missing privacy. The gear that's too complicated to bother setting up.

These are the things that cut trips short, limit where you can go, and stop you from bringing the people you love along.

Joolca exists to solve them. We design gear that let you go further, stay longer, and actually enjoy every moment out there.

How We Do It

We're engineers. We think about problems differently.

Every product is built for the places where there's no backup plan — remote campsites, rough tracks, the spots where gear either works or it doesn't. That means obsessing over details: materials, build quality, and how something feels to set up when you're tired and it's dark.

Designed as one connected system, because that's how people actually use it. The best feedback we get is when customers find small things we've thought of that they didn't expect. That's by design.

Who We Are

Joolca is a family business, founded in Melbourne in 2012 by four brothers who all happen to be engineers.

All product design and development happens at our Australian headquarters. We work with manufacturing partners we've known for years to build everything to the standard we'd use ourselves.

We test everything in the field before it goes to market. And when our customers tell us something could be better, we listen and we fix it.

That's the advantage of a company run by the people who designed the gear.

The History

You’ve seen how lots of brands like to tell their story. It’s a formula called the “hero’s journey.” For Joolca, it’d go something like this:

HOTTAP Portable Hot Water System

2011

Mac started to work on Joolca's first product, a class leading portable water heater.

HOTTAP is released. The world's smallest water heater of its type hits the market.

The garage wasn't big enough anymore. Joolca moved into its first warehouse. The sign went up.

2016 was the year Joolca stopped fitting in one car.

HOTTAP hit the shelves at BCF & Anaconda. Australia Started to notice.

Joolca enters the USA market with the launch of HOTTAP v2

Covid Times. Lots of Zoom meetings and DIY haircuts.
